Sonoma County offers an unrivaled event calendar, with nearly 1,000 events which take place here throughout the year. For the active minded, Lake Sonoma is located just a few minutes from the inn. There, one can go sailing, boating, kayaking, fishing, waterskiing, hiking, and horseback riding.

For those in search of more refined pastimes, there are more than 150 wineries within an hour’s drive. Healdsburg, with world-class shopping and restaurants, is just 20 minutes to the south.

For the more adventurous spirit, just five minutes up the road at the Cloverdale Airport is the home of NorCal Skydiving. Our consistently sunny weather and calm winds make Cloverdale an ideal spot for this particular sport. Jump tickets start at just $25 and videotaped tandem rides for the novice thrill seeker start at $199 for the package. Our guests receive a 10% discount.

Mendocino County offers a bounty of absolutely spectacular scenery. Not to be missed is a drive up the coastline, a rugged road laden with expansive views of the Pacific Ocean. You will feel like you have crossed the pond to Ireland. Head 65 miles northwest from Cloverdale along the scenic Alexander Valley road to the town of Mendocino, which has a number of notable restaurants, shops, and galleries to explore. It’s a perfect day trip that winds its way through beautiful wineries, a redwood forest, and breathtaking coastline. Go whale watching, or for the more adventurous spirit, try out abalone diving!

Lake County

For the more laid-back traveler, just 45 minutes northwest of the inn, discover Lake County. Dotted with vineyards and wineries, orchards, and farm stands, and charming small towns, Lake County is home to Clear Lake, California’s largest natural freshwater lake. Known as "The Bass Capital of the West," and for Mt. Konocti, which towers over Clear Lake, there are more than 100 miles of shoreline to explore. Visit the quaint towns of Kelseyville and Lakeport, and enjoy the scenic drive along the way for a fabulous day trip!
