Cloverdale is abuzz at our latest entry into the culinary realm: the Trading Post Market & Bakery (a.k.a., The Post) opened their dining expansion on October 26, 2016, bringing a modern gathering place and eatery that is warm, welcoming, and offers locally-sourced ingredients. Located at 102 South Cloverdale Boulevard, the restaurant not only brought a great dining option, but is also helping revitalize the downtown area even more.
Already a popular bakery stop for locals and visitors, the restaurant takes their business a step further, offering diner from Wednesday through Sunday evenings from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. (the bakery is still open Tuesday through Saturday from 1:00 to 6:00 p.m.). Executive Chef Erik Johnson takes this restaurant a step further than traditional area fare by sourcing ingredients from local producers.
Appetizers range from deviled eggs, to sausage-stuffed mushrooms and fried chicken thighs. Salads are a seasonal experience – you may find yourself with traditional greens, or one of any freshly-created plates that could double as appetizers themselves.
As for main courses, we all rave about the huge pork chop, although everything on the menu is a culinary delight. Choose a far-from-standard hamburger, duck, salmon, pasta, steak, or chicken if pork doesn’t suit your tastes.
Of course a meal isn’t complete without the perfect beverage accompaniment. The Post offers a very respectable selection of wines (some available by the glass) and limited beer, both on draft and in bottles.
Want to give them a try? We recommend making reservations on their website, due to their more-limited nights/times of operation. You can also give them a call at 707-894-6483. We’ll be happy to make a reservation for you as well.
